History
SSAB was formed in 1978 through the merger of three steelworks:
Domnarvets Järnverk in Borlänge, Oxelösunds Järnverk, and Norrbottens
Järnverk
in Luleå. Since then, the group has successfully cultivated
a niche market for high strength steel.
In July 2007, SSAB acquired the North American steel company
IPSCO Inc., and in 2008, SSAB divested the tubular operations
within the
IPSCO Division. |
